I want to alert you to a problem I have had with a digital thermometer I purchased from Home Depot. For the past four weeks I have been battling to bring my tank to and hold it @ 3 c. My purchased digital thermometer read anywhere between 8.7 and 3.8 during this time, yet my cooler unit thermometer reading was between 3 and 1 and would ice-up if I attemped to sustain it @ 1. It finally dawned on me that perhaps the digital thermometer was defective, so I brought one from home that has been tried and true for years. Eureka! The water if great! The temperature is just right.

The 'Springfield PerciseTemp' thermometer I purchased is defective.

So, if anyone else out there is struggling to bring the tank to temp. please note the above.
