SUMMARY:Help Restore and Protect our River Herring Populations
DESCRIPTION:We have an opportunity to speak up for our declining river herring and shad. The New England Fishery Management Council (NEFMC) is holding scoping meetings to discuss “catch reduction measures.” There is one this Wednesday\, April 17th in Mystic which you must register to speak at. Letters of support can also be received on or before 8 am EST\, Tuesday\, April 30\, 2024 including via email. \nRead an article by Kevin Job of the CT DEEP for the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. It details the current plight of river herring and shad. \nFind the notice of scoping meetings here.
