Progress for State Hatcheries
Many thanks to you all for your efforts to keep the hatcheries (and Salmon-in-Schools) alive. What’s happened so far is submission of an alternative bill (House Bill 6047), co-sponsored by Rep. William Tong, 147th Dist., Rep. Melissa H. Ziobron, 34th Dist. and Rep. Mary M. Mushinsky, 85th Dist. It is meant to establish proper funding for the state’s hatcheries through a task force. For more information on the bill, click here. We’re not done with the budget session yet, but this is good start toward continued funding for the hatcheries.
