Many thanks to everyone who wrote letters, sent emails and made phone calls in support of continued funding for the Kensington Hatchery !!! Funding for it, the State Parks and the Pheasant Program were included in the final Budget. Let’s celebrate……… but not too long. The funding only lasts the two years of the bi-annual budget and then “here we go again”. Stay tuned for updates on Representative Tong’s bill HB 6047 that passed in the House. It’s purpose is to establish consistent funding for Connecticut’s Fish Hatcheries. Cheers !
The funding for the Kensington Hatchery means the continuation of the “Salmon-in-Schools” Program, the “Trout in the Classroom” Program, “The Connecticut Atlantic Salmon Legacy Program” and the opportunity to fish for Broodstock Atlantic Salmon.
