Update: Connecticut Broodstock Atlantic Salmon.
Since the 3rd and final stocking of the Large Broodstock Salmon by the DEEP in mid-November we have had many positive reports from both the Shetucket and Naugatuck Rivers.
Michael Steeves, UCONN Student and Orvis Avon Associate shared his experiences from the Shetucket.
He used a 10’6″ by 4 wt. rod with a Hydros reel loaded with an Orvis 4 wt. sink tip line, a fluorocarbon leader/tippet tapered to 7 lb. test and his special variation of a Mickey Finn.
